Parish Registration

Our hope is that those living in Woodhaven, or in the surrounding communities, who choose to call Saint Thomas their parish will make the commitment to join us weekly at Mass, volunteer their time when available, and financially support our mission and works. Traditionally, weekly envelopes are used to support your parish. Those wishing to support us either electronically or according to another schedule are asked to contact the Parish Office for the opportunities available.

What does it mean to be an actively registered member?

In order to be considered an active, participating member of Saint Thomas the Apostle Church, one must be registered in the parish, attend Mass regularly, and be committed to a stewardship of time, talent, and treasure. We encourage all parishioners to become active in our parish's mission to strengthen our faith through Word, Eucharist and Evangelization as One Family of Faith in Jesus Christ. All families have rules to guide and help them grow - those without rules live in chaos and lack freedom necessary to love as Christ loves.

In a community as large as Saint Thomas the Apostle, our most effective means of verifying participation is through the use of parish offertory envelopes or electronic giving. If you are presently unable to contribute, please note your prayerful support on your envelope and place it in the weekly offertory (Make sure your contact information is on it). We will then be aware of your continued participation at Mass, and you will not be noted as "inactive" in our parish records.

For those able to make a weekly sacrifice: Taking your families expenses into consideration, please refer to the chart below when making your weekly sacrifice to your parish. Remember that a sacrifice does not mean we give God and His Church whatever change we may have left over in our pockets. A sacrifice is supposed to cost us something. Making a sacrificial gift to your parish weekly communicates a sense of gratitude and demonstrates that your faith matters to you. It means that you are invested in God and his people. It means that you understand what it is to belong to a community and have a deep sense of mission.
