I am happy to announce that the committees that have been formed to help celebrate the Centennial Anniversary of Saint Thomas the Apostle are busily putting shape to our year-long celebration.  Please see the insert in the Parish Bulletin today which announces the beginning Dinner-Dance celebration to be held at the Immaculate Conception Center in Douglaston.  Since reservations for tickets are being made quickly – please consider joining us on June 19, 2010 at the first of many events which will mark this year as most special.

For all those who are online, please take an opportunity to revisit our website at  Please note that through the generous assistance of a few parishioners, changes have been made to our website so that it creatively expresses our parish as a place where people find God.  I believe that its new format will not only increase our visibility, but encourage parishioners past and present to see the vibrancy of our Catholic Community.

Please share information on our updated/expanded website with your friends and neighbors.  In the same way, please encourage all parish and school alumni to provide us their contact information online so that we may provide an updated list of events as it is finalized.

Next weekend is Pentecost Sunday.  Please join me in praying for all those who will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation NEXT Sunday at 3:00 PM when Bishop Cisneros will celebrate Mass and administer the sacrament.  We are blessed by his availability and willingness to join us on Pentecost Sunday as we celebrate the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Please consider marking this special day by wearing RED clothes when you attend Mass this weekend.  (Pentecost Sunday)

May the gifts of the Holy Spirit guide and protect us,
