Anniversary Dinner Dance - The beginning of our Year Long Celebration:
Our vibrant, Catholic Community begins its Centenial celebration this weekend with a Dinner Dance at the Immaculate Conception Center in Douglaston.  The Dance is only the beginning of a full range of activities which are in the works thanks to the participation of an initial 40 volunteers who contribute to the six committees that will help us remember the past, celebrate the present and look to the future.  A list of the events to celebrate this momentous occasion in the life of our parish will be printed and posted on-line shortly.  Further volunteers will also be needed – please prayerfully consider how you can help us celebrate and respond to future calls for assistance!

At the same time, we are working to finalize the cost of the required exterior work on Monsignor Mulz Hall,  the exterior and potential interior work on Saint Thomas Church.   Considerations for the Church include the replacement/renewal of the aging mechanical systems, (electric, lighting, air conditioning), an accessible bathroom in the entrance hall, and  the restoration of the Sanctuary.

If that were not enough to consider, the repairs will require the finalization of a Capital Campaign which will begin this fall.  All this while working to finalize parish and liturgy office budgets AND preparing for the upcoming Ordinations to the Priesthood.  Please join me in praying for the success of all our works – recognizing that all things begin and end in Christ.

Lastly, please join me in recognizing the significant vocation of being a Father.  As we pray the week ahead with our Father’s Day Remembrance of Masses, may we recall their generosity and love.  May it also inspire generations of new fathers to continue to serve their families and Church with the same never-ending care and devotion of our Heavenly Father.
